** Vision Statement **

Our God is an awesome God who has provided us with talents to honor Him. Those of us in the Mount Airy Christian Academy Lions Athletic Program picture God working from His toolbox to fix a hurting world. The Lord uses a variety of tools at His disposal: church congregations, youth groups, missions, educational programs, and many others. He also has athletics. Our Lord wants us to use athletics not to glorify our own prowess or abilities, but as a ministry to glorify Him. As the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19) commands, we are intended to go forth and spread the Good News. MACA’s student-athletes have been instilled with the Good News of Christ and are ready to share it through their sport.

With that in mind, the MACA Athletic Booster Club is called to financially support the school’s Athletic Program through various fundraisers. One important way funds raised will be used is to send one Varsity team on a mission trip each year. The Booster Club hopes to cover most or all of the cost of the trip so the student-athletes can focus on their mission. Hopefully, they also will enjoy playing a little sport as part of their ministry.

The MACA Lions Athletic Program does not focus on winning championships, but rather on reaching out to lost souls and developing those who are walking with Christ. The Booster Club feels it appropriate to take time each year to thank God for the opportunities he has provided through sports at MACA and celebrate the stories and events God has created (Psalms 126:2). The Booster Club hosts a memorable sports banquet where student-athletes, their parents, and friends can gather together for fellowship and to rejoice in what the Lord has accomplished.

MACA and the Athletic Program are good stewards of the funds God has provided. The Booster Club believes that part of its own stewardship includes assisting with meeting the physical needs of the Athletic Program. To that end, a portion of funds raised are used to purchase uniforms and equipment that the Athletic Program might otherwise not be able to afford.

In addition to supporting a mission trip, the sports banquet, and assisting with program costs, the MACA Athletic Booster Club is called to the important task of consistently praying for the Athletic Program (Colossians 4:2 & 1 Thessalonians 5:17). The Booster Club prays diligently that our student-athletes, their parents, coaches, friends, spectators, and opponents are all touched by the awesomeness and love of our God.
